PTSD Awareness Day đź’š
Millions live with PTSD—including me.
I’ve had Medical PTSD for decades, but I stayed quiet about it… until COVID. When I had to face traumatic hospitalizations alone—no parents, no support—I couldn’t keep it buried anymore.
That’s when the chronic illness community started opening up, and for the first time, it felt okay to talk about it.
Medical PTSD is real. It lives in the body—in every beeping alarm, every rushed IV, every time I’m admitted and my nervous system goes into high alert. It doesn’t just go away, and honestly, the last few years have been some of the hardest for me emotionally when I’m inpatient.
I don’t talk about it all the time, but I am talking about it today—because silence doesn’t help anyone heal.
To those who get it: I see you. You’re not weak. You’re surviving. 💚
